Solar panels

Queenslanders' resource use is skyrocketing.  Our environment minister doesn't believe we can reduce emissions by 60% by 2050. But what if we all installed solar panels?

  1. How many families can afford solar panels? This would be a more realistic solution if government subsidies were increased to 50% of installation costs.

  2. There's also the issue of the emissions produced during manufacture. Domestic solar panels are not a silver bullet, and solar energy itself is not a long term solution, although it may buy us time for de-powering. Do we need to consider community-size panel farm? Heavens! We'd have to cooperate!

  3. And another thing .... 60% reduction not possible...? Really, Kate? It maybe that a much greater reduction will be enforced by external (natural) forces. And what's more, surely such an attitude in the face of immediate crises is shortsighted defeatism?!
